About the Role: 
We are seeking a Compliance Manager to join our growing Finance team and oversee all finance and accounting functions in Guatemala our newest and quickest growing operation. As the Finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, month-end close, budgeting, reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. The new hire will work closely with Acceso’s CFO, the Guatemala General Manager, the Guatemalan accounting and tax firm, and the Guatemala management team.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Compliance & Audit Leadership 
    • Develop and implement administrative and financial policies and procedures for Acceso Global Financial operations 
    • Document and design standard processes and procedures for global accounting and finance practices for all operations including USA, Colombia, El Salvador, Haiti, Guatemala, and new countries of operation 
    • Lead the financial development for new country expansion in LATAM and Caribbean, including Mexico, Honduras, and DR. 
    • Oversee office operations and resources 
    • Oversee office space planning and utilization, including relocations, maintenance, and renovations 
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements related to the office. 
    • Develop and manage budgets for administrative needs. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline administrative workflows and procedures. 
  • Accounting, Treasury, Finance, & Budgeting
    • Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and journal entries. 
    • Review and ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, budget variance reports, and credit program reports.  
    • Review current internal controls, policies, and procedures, make suggestions for improvements and implement changes.  
    • Manage all bank accounts and review bank reconciliations.  
    • Lead the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during the annual audit process. 
    • Manage the overall financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies. 
    • In collaboration with the FP&A team, in-country management, and the CFO, prepare budgets and forecasts and BVA reports 
    • Prepare grant budgets and grant reports for agri project activities in Guatemala 
  • Team Management and Relationships 
    • Hire, develop and train the Guatemala local finance team from the ground up with guidance from the Acceso Central finance team 
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, providing financial guidance and support to departments across the organization. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and enhance financial systems and processes, leveraging technology and automation where possible. 
    • Ad hoc team support 


Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred 
  • Minimum + years’ experience as a finance manager, director, or equivalent  
  • Experience managing a team of 2+ in accounting/finance for at least one year  
  • Experience documenting and designing processes and procedures for accounting and finance operations 
  • Experience as a financial auditor or compliance manager preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.  
  • Passion and commitment to social impact and improving the lives of smallholder farmers. 
  • Can-do attitude with an adaptive work style. You thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.  
  • Detail-oriented and meticulously organized.   
  • Collaborative team player.  
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to Acceso’s markets in LATAM and the Caribbean.  
  • Working fluency in Spanish and English.
