Thanks to funding from Frank Giustra, Acceso Colombia worked with a local bakery in Cucutá leading up to Christmas to prepare 15,000 chocolate cakes, panettones, and Venezuelan ham rolls. The bakery was founded by Mileysi Tobón, a Colombian who previously lived in Venezuela, with support from our feeding partner Nueva Ilusión and its founder Patricia Salguero. The Christmas treats were distributed to 5,000 Venezuelans alongside regular daily meals distributed in partnership with Nueva Ilusión/World Central Kitchen on December 24, 2020. We are thrilled to have helped make Christmas a little sweeter for these families and will also continue our daily feeding program in 2021. Watch the video below!
